We have hundreds of dedicated volunteers, without whom we would never be able to do what we do. Your help is always and greatly appreciated.
Read below how to become a volunteer at De Sering.
1. Join an Introductory day or evening
Stay tuned here for when these are coming up! "Introduction to De Sering & First shift"
We schedule introductory days and evenings regularly to bring in new volunteers on all days of the week. This is when we show newbies the ropes, give cooking lessons and catch up with one another.
Whether you have loads of experience in the kitchen or barely know how to boil water, you’re welcome here!
On introductory days, you can chat with us and ask all about how it works here. One of our staff or experienced volunteers will tell you about all the ways you can get involved.
The programme for introductory days can vary!
We always start with a meal, have a tour and then get busy.
Make sure to join the first time volunteer chat below!
2. Sign up for next time
After you’ve got to know the place a bit, you’re welcome to sign up for the next time you can help out.
This can be serving food any day of the week (service cook), working behind the bar, or helping out in the kitchen throughout the week once your skills have been developed.
Watch out for updates, calls to action when we may need you and monthly get-togethers via our Whatsapp Community and announcement channel as well as our volunteer-made Wiki.
You and anyone you may want to bring are always welcome to come back every day and many more days on top of that to hang out or help out (just make sure to sign up)!
To embrace your personal skills or interests, you can join one of our many circles (read more on our Wiki page) in which you can embrace your personal skills and interests.
