Queer Art Club Amsterdam

👋 hey there! we welcome all queers to join us in the next edition of queer art club amsterdam! we are a group of people that like to get craftsy together. feel free to join us at the tables of de sering, usually every last sunday of the month (there might be some exceptions). have a relaxed, creative and sober time with us & bring all your queer friends (or make some new ones)!

🎨 the basics:
• bring your own art project/supplies
• all levels and art forms welcome
• every last sunday of the month (usually. there might be some exceptions)
• queers only (you know who you are)
• free of charge / no registration required

♿ de sering is a wheelchair accessible space, including a wheelchair-friendly toilet.

this project started in may 2023 because a group of friends felt a lack in the queer scene of fun, sober daytime activities. and then we thought: let's start something new ourselves! every queer (you know who you are) is welcome to join us doing craftsy projects together, whether you are just getting started, or are a seasoned artist, and whether you are painting, drawing, block printing, knitting, crocheting, writing, tinkering, claying, making a collage, singing, playing an instrument or literally whatever — anything goes! 🌈

⏰ the club usually runs from 14:30 to 17:30 (again, usually. we will let you know if it ever differs). you can stay from the beginning to the end, or hop in and out at any moment you like.

🧶 organizing wise, we try to keep things simple: everybody brings their own art project, and then we have fun time together in a safe(r) space. there will always be at least one co-host present, someone who knows their way around the queer art club and the sering, and will give you a warm welcome if you are inclined. also, if you have any remarks, suggestions or questions for the organizers of the queer art club while you're there, you can resolve those with the co-hosts as well.

✨ sometimes, we might organise a workshop, so people can share their skills and practice the same kind of craft together (if we do so, you will also always be able to skip the workshop and work on your own projects). would you like to organize a workshop with us? send us an e-mail and let's keep in touch!
