Join us at De Sering for a creative and delicious afternoon in support of the Sunflower Protest by Voedselpark Amsterdam! Sow sunflower seeds from the Lutkemeerpolder, make linocuts, or crochet sunflowers to collectively grow blooming symbols of resistance across the city.
The talented chefs of De Sering will serve sunflower seed ice cream!
Why sunflowers?
These flowers, grown from seeds saved from the Lutkemeerpolder, are a living protest. As Amsterdam celebrates 750 years, we demand sustainable & accessible land use, not concrete. For years, Voedselpark Amsterdam has fought to protect this soil. Planting sunflowers across the city illustrates the landscape Amsterdammers actually want: one where fertile soil nourishes communities!
