A Dip into Australia

15.10. -

Join us October 15th for a 'Dip into Australia,' a free to attend film screening evening where we will explore the nooks and crannies, the good and the bad, the celebrated and diminished realities of life in Australia told through the cross sectional lens of Brodie Poole's documentary, "General Hercules."

The documentary explores the realities of life in regional Australia, following the mayoral elections of Kalgoorlie a gold mining town shaped by the countries largest open pit mine, corruption, humour, greed, racial tension and the pursuit for justice and a fair go. This film will make you laugh. It will make you cry. It will show you the depths of our shared humanity and the corruption that lurks beneath the surface of power.

Alongside 'General Hercules' we will also be screening two filmed live performances by Australian bands "King stingray" & "bean magazine," who have been kind enough to give us their blessings for this evening! If you love indigenous surf rock, Australian indie and a whole bunch of larrakinism then come down early to hear the tunes!

We're incredibly excited to share with you all these parts of our culture & history, good and bad, better or worse. We want you to leave with a stronger idea of what life is like in the land down under so please join us for this special evening :)
